How to say “al-Azdi” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَأَوَّلُ مَنْ عَلِمَ بِذَلِكَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بُنَّ عَامِرٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ
So the first who knew of that was Abd Allah ibn Amir al-Azdi.
الْأَزْدِيُّ — al-Azdi. A descriptive surname (a nisba) tying the man to a tribe or place, ending in the relational '-i' suffix and carrying the definite article as part of its fixed form. It rounds off his full name, agreeing in case with the rest of the name-chain so its ending matches the run before it.
