How to say “al-Fihri” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
حُبَيْشُ بْنُ الأَشْعَرِ وَكُرْزُ بْنُ جَابِرِ الْفِهْرِيُّ
Hubaysh, son of al-Ash'ar, and Kurz, son of Jabir al-Fihri.
الْفِهْرِيُّ — al-Fihri. An adjective built off a tribe-name to mean 'belonging to that tribe', a way Arabic turns a place or clan into a descriptor. It carries the 'the' marker and trails the name it describes, pinning the man to his tribal affiliation.
