Hubaysh, son of al-Ash'ar, and Kurz, son of Jabir al-Fihri.
Jabir. The father-name completing the second 'son of', so it sits in the genitive owner-slot. It tells us whose son the second man is and ties him into his lineage.
From: Conquest of Mecca Account →
From Jabir ibn Abd Allah, may Allah be pleased with them both, who said:
جَابِرِ — Jabir. This personal name sits right after the preposition 'from', so it wears the genitive ending that any word governed by a preposition takes. It is also the anchor that the following 'son of...' phrase builds onto, starting the man's full lineage.
