How to say “al-Khattab” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالُوا أَهُوَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ
They said, "Is he Umar ibn al-Khattab?"
الْخَطَّابِ — al-Khattab. A definite proper name in the genitive, the owner half of 'son of al-Khattab', so its case is set by that owned-by role. It completes the full name.
