Arabic vocabulary
How to say “alone” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَالنِّيَّاتُ لَا تُغْنِي وَحْدَهَا إِذَا كَانَ الْعَمَلُ غَيْرُ صَحِيحٍ،
So intentions alone do not suffice if the deed is not correct.
وَحْدَهَا — by itself. A fixed adverbial noun meaning 'on their own', built on a base for 'aloneness' with a feminine pronoun '-ha' attached pointing back to 'the intentions'. The whole word restricts the verb: intentions, taken by themselves, are what fall short.
