Arabic vocabulary
How to say “appropriate” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلَا يَجِيءُ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْ ذَلِكَ تَكَلَّمَ لَهُمْ بِكَذَا وَكَذَا،
And it is not fitting in any of that to say: 'He spoke to them with such and such',
يَجِيءُ — fitting. A present-tense verb, literally 'it comes', used idiomatically for 'it is fitting/appropriate'. The subject 'it' is inside the verb form. Arabic often presses a motion verb into this kind of idiom, where 'come' carries the sense of something being apt in context.
