فَقَطَعَتْ أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ أَبِي بَكْرِ قِطْعَةً مِنْ نِطَاقِهَا،
So Asma bint Abi Bakr cut off a piece from her belt.
أَسْمَاءُ — Asma. The doer of 'cut', a proper name arriving after its verb; the -u ending marks her as nominative, the one performing the action. The name simply identifies which 'she' the verb already encoded.
