Arabic vocabulary
How to say “at all” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ويرى أن القضاء عليه نافذ لا محالة،
and he sees that the decree upon him is inevitable,
مَحَالَةَ — at all. The noun denied by 'no', completing the idiom 'with no avoiding it', i.e. inevitable. It carries the object ending that this kind of total negation puts on its noun, and the pair together stresses certainty.
