ثُمَّ قَطَعَ دَابِرَهُمْ وَأَبْطَلَ سُنَّتَهُمْ وَمَحَا آثَارَهُمْ وَجَوْرَهُمْ فَإِنَّ أُولَئِكَ لَمْ يَكُونُوا عَلَى شَيْءٍ مِمَّا ذُكِرَ
Then He completely cut them off, nullified their traditions, erased their traces and tyranny, for they were not upon anything of what was mentioned.
دَابِرَهُمْ — them off. This noun names the hindmost part or root, with an attached possessive pronoun, 'their root', and is the object of the cutting verb, hence the accusative. The idiom 'cut their root' means to wipe them out entirely; the pronoun points to the kings.
