How to say “bad” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ويحك ما أطول أملك وأسوأ عملك
Woe to you! How long are your hopes, and how bad are your deeds!
وَأَسْوَأَ — and how bad. This fronts wa- 'and' onto a second elative-shaped word 'how bad', parallel to 'how long' before. The wa- coordinates the two wonder-clauses, building 'how long your hope AND how bad your deed'. It mirrors the first exclamation in form for rhetorical balance.
