Arabic vocabulary
How to say “bank” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَإِنَّهُ سَيَقُولُ لَكَ إِشْرَبْ مَا بَيْنَ الضِّفَّتَيْنِ
He will say to you, "Drink what is between the two banks."
الضِّفَّتَيْنِ — the two banks. The dual, 'two banks', with the article 'al-' (the) making it definite, 'the two banks'. The count of two is folded into the word's shape, and the article marks them as the specific pair already discussed. No separate 'two' word is needed.
