Arabic vocabulary
How to say “be alone (you plural)” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
لَا تَخْلُوا بِاِمْرَأَةٍ غَيْرِ ذِي مَحْرَمٍ
Do not be alone with a woman who has no mahram.
تَخْلُوا — be alone (you plural). A present-tense verb, 'be alone', addressed to a plural 'you', pushed by the preceding 'do not' into the prohibition shape, so its plural ending takes the cut-short form. Together with that particle it makes a command not to do something: 'do not be alone'.
