Arabic vocabulary
How to say “be content” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فصل إِذا اسْتغنى النَّاس بالدنيا فاستغن أَنْت بِاللَّه
If people become content with the world, be content with God.
فَاسْتَغْنِ — so be content. The 'fa-' launches the answer to the condition, and the verb is now a command: 'you, be self-sufficient'. Built from the same Form X verb, its weak final letter drops away in the imperative, leaving the short form.
