How to say “be eager to” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَنْتَ تَحْرِصُ عَلَى جَمْعِ الزِّيَادَةِ
And you are eager to gather more.
تَحْرِصُ — you are eager to. A present-tense verb, 'you are eager/keen', addressed to 'you', with the subject built into its ending. It reaches its object through the preposition that follows, so the eagerness is directed 'toward gathering'. Its full ending marks a plain ongoing statement.
