Arabic vocabulary
How to say “more” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَنْتَ تَحْرِصُ عَلَى جَمْعِ الزِّيَادَةِ
And you are eager to gather more.
الزِّيَادَةِ — more. The noun 'surplus/increase', made definite by al- ('the'), the owned half of 'gathering of the surplus', so it takes the 'of' (genitive) ending. It names what the eager person keeps piling up beyond need.
