Arabic vocabulary
How to say “be granted intercession” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَقُلْ يُسْمَعْ، وَسَلْ تُعْطَهْ، وَاِشْفَعْ تُشَفَّعْ
Say, and it will be heard; ask, and you will be given; intercede, and you will be granted intercession.
تُشَفَّعْ — you will be granted intercession. A passive verb addressed to 'you', 'your intercession will be accepted', in the cut-short jussive shape as the promised result of the preceding 'intercede'. The passive puts 'you' as the one whose intercession is granted. So the pair reads 'if you intercede, it is accepted', closing the three matched command-result couplets.
