Arabic vocabulary
How to say “become mixed” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
حَتَّى يَأْتِيهُمَا بِخَبَرِ ذَلِكَ حِينَ يَخْتَلِطُ الظَّلاَمُ،
until news of that reaches them both, when darkness gathers,
يَخْتَلِطُ — becomes mixed. A present-tense verb in its reflexive/middle shape (the built-in pattern that means the action happens to the subject itself), so the darkness does the mixing-together on its own. The 'it' subject is folded into the verb, with no separate doer named.
