Among the calamities that befall us are poverty, illness, and fear.
تَصِيبُنَا — befall us. A present-tense verb carrying a tail -na, 'us', as object, 'befall us'. Its feminine subject agrees with the calamities, and the object pronoun fused onto it names those struck. It closes the relative clause describing the trials.
