Arabic vocabulary
How to say “before them” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
إِلَّا فِي أَيَّامِ الْجِهَادِ وَقَبْلَهَا بِمُدَّةٍ
Except during the days of jihad and for some time before them.
وَقَبْلَهَا — and before them. The opening 'wa-' is the coordinating 'and', joining this whole time-phrase to the earlier one so both stand under the same exception. The attached '-ha' (them/it) is a pronoun glued to the end of 'before', and it points back to the days mentioned a moment ago, so the meaning is 'before those days'.
