Arabic vocabulary
تَفَرُّد is how you say “being unique” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
وَالنُّفُوسُ مَجْبُولَةٌ عَلَى وَحْشَةِ التَّفَرُّدِ،
And the souls are naturally disposed to the loneliness of being unique.
التَّفَرُّدِ — being unique. A definite action-noun completing the 'of' pair, 'the dread of solitude / standing alone', genitive as the owner. The pairing names exactly what the souls instinctively shrink from. With 'the', it points to the state of being singular as a known thing.
