How to say “loneliness” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَالنُّفُوسُ مَجْبُولَةٌ عَلَى وَحْشَةِ التَّفَرُّدِ،
And the souls are naturally disposed to the loneliness of being unique.
وَحْشَةِ — loneliness of. A noun heading a possessive pair, 'the dread OF being alone', bound straight to the following noun. It is genitive because the preceding preposition governs it, and as the front member it stays bare of 'the', drawing definiteness from the owner ahead.
