فضجت مما لجت الجدر، فرجعت على الورق الشكر،
So the walls resounded with what the torrents brought, and thanks returned on the leaves,
لَجَّتِ — they brought. A past-tense verb meaning 'surged / pressed on', with a feminine subject, opening the clause that 'from what' refers to. It names the action behind the walls' resounding, so it tells you what caused the clamor.
