Arabic vocabulary
How to say “camel” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قُلْتُ أَبْطَأَ عَلَيَّ جَمَلِي وَأَعْيَا،
I said, "My camel slowed down on me and became exhausted."
جَمَلِي — my camel. This noun ends in -i ('my'), fusing the owner onto the word, and it is the doer of the verb 'slowed' that came earlier. So it names whose camel lagged, arriving after its verb in the usual Arabic order.
