How to say “chief” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
A marvel of the age, the delight of the eye of faith, the chief of the Hanbali school.
رَئِيسُ — chief. An honorific 'chief/head', another praise-title, heading a possessive pairing with 'the Hanbali school' that follows. As the lead term of this construct it draws definiteness from the second term, marking him as leader of that legal tradition.
