Arabic vocabulary
How to say “claim” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَزَعْمُ شَرِيكِهِ إِنَّهُ مَاتَ
His partner claimed that he had died.
فَزَعْمُ — so the claim. A 'so' connector is fused to an action-noun meaning 'the claim', the noun naming the act of claiming itself. It opens a possessive pair, 'the claim of...', with the next word as its owner, so it stays bare of 'the' and takes definiteness from that owner. The 'so' ties this statement onto the running account.
