Arabic vocabulary
How to say “companion” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ رَفِيقِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
May God make him my companion on the Day of Resurrection.
رَفِيقِي — my companion. This noun completes the 'make him a...' frame, naming what he is made into, and it ends in an owner-suffix meaning 'my'. So the speaker asks that the person become his own companion. Here the possessive is fused right onto the noun rather than written as a separate word.
