أَوْ زَاهِدٌ يَتَقَلَّبُ بِرَأْيِهِ الْفَاسِدِ فِي جَهَالَتِهِ،
Or an ascetic who keeps shifting his corrupt opinion in his ignorance,
الفاسدِ — the corrupt. A describing word carrying 'al-' (the), trailing the noun it modifies and matching it in definiteness and form, the Arabic way of pinning an adjective to its noun. It sharpens 'his opinion' into 'his corrupt opinion', agreeing with what it qualifies.
