How to say “corruption” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَإِنَّ كَمَالَ أَنْفُسِهِ بِتَلَوُّثٍ أَوْ قِيادَةٍ ،
If, however, his self is perfected by corruption or by leadership,
بِتَلَوُّثٍ — by corruption. Here 'bi-' is a preposition fused to the noun, and in this slot it marks the means or cause, the 'by way of' through which the perfecting supposedly happens. It also forces the 'of...' (genitive) shape on the noun and leaves it indefinite, naming an instrument rather than a specific thing.
