Arabic vocabulary
How to say “David” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
بَيِّنًا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ﵇ يَسْعَى فِي مَوْكِبِهِ
While Solomon, son of David, was walking in his procession.
دَاوُد — David. This name closes the 'son of so-and-so' lineage tag, naming the father as the second half of the pair, so it takes the possessive case. As a name it is already definite. The two words together fix the figure's parentage.
