Arabic vocabulary
How to say “defeated” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَإِنْ رَأَيْتُمُونَا هَزَمْنَا الْقَوْمَ وَأَوْطَأْنَاهُمْ
And if you see that we have defeated the people and humbled them.
هَزَمْنَا — we defeated. A past verb whose '-na' ending fixes the doers as 'we'; the subject is built in, so no separate 'we' is written. It reports the completed act of defeating, owned by the speaker's group.
