Arabic vocabulary
هَزَمَ is how you say “defeated” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
وَإِنْ رَأَيْتُمُونَا هَزَمْنَا الْقَوْمَ وَأَوْطَأْنَاهُمْ
And if you see that we have defeated the people and humbled them.
هَزَمْنَا — we defeated. A past verb whose '-na' ending fixes the doers as 'we'; the subject is built in, so no separate 'we' is written. It reports the completed act of defeating, owned by the speaker's group.
