How to say “humbled” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَإِنْ رَأَيْتُمُونَا هَزَمْنَا الْقَوْمَ وَأَوْطَأْنَاهُمْ
And if you see that we have defeated the people and humbled them.
وَأَوْطَأْنَاهُمْ — and we humbled them. One packed word: a connector 'and', then a past verb with the '-na' 'we' subject, then a '-hum' tail attaching 'them' as the humbled ones. Arabic threads link, doer, deed and receiver into a single written form.
