Arabic vocabulary
يَهْدِمُ is how you say “demolish” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
وَحِصْنًا حَصِينًا لَا يَهْدِمُ وَلَا يَثْلِمُ
And a secure fortress, neither demolished nor breached.
يَهْدِمُ — is demolished. A present verb, read passively here as 'it is torn down': the fortress receives the action. Arabic adds no helper word; the role is shown by the verb's vowel pattern. Negated by the preceding 'not', it gives 'that is not demolished'.
