How to say “demolished” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وكم هدم قصرًا مشيدًا وكم زلزل أبياتا،
And how many fortified castles has He demolished, and how many homes has He shaken,
هَدَمَ — he demolished. A past-tense verb meaning 'demolished / tore down', with its 'he' subject built into the form and pointing back to Allah. It governs the object that follows, the castle, so it names the destroying act counted by the 'how many'.
