قَالَ إِنِّي مُحْتَاجٌ، وَعَلَيَّ عِيَالٌ، وَلِيَّ حَاجَةٌ شَدِيدَةٌ
He said, "I am in need, and I have dependents, and I have an urgent need."
عِيَالٌ — dependents. An indefinite plural noun standing as the thing 'upon me', the subject of the have-clause. With no 'the', it states the burden in general terms, the dependents the speaker must support; Arabic puts it after the preposition phrase to mean 'I have dependents'.
