Arabic vocabulary
How to say “descent” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
إِذَا صَاحَبَهَا إِلَى الْقَبْرِ فِي اِنْحِدَارٍ،
If it accompanied it down to the grave on a slope,
اِنْحِدَارٍ — downward slope. An action-noun naming a descent, the object of 'in' before it, so it takes the genitive ending. Its indefiniteness leaves the slope general, a downward way rather than a named place. It completes the picture of the final descent toward the grave.
