Arabic vocabulary
How to say “direct” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فسبحان مدبر الفلك ولو لم يدر لم يدر،
Glory be to the Manager of the cosmos, and had He not directed it, it would not rotate,
يُدَبِّرْ — He direct it. A present-form verb carrying its own 'he' subject, but forced by the negator before it into the clipped jussive ending, which is why its last sound is cut short. That trimmed ending is the grammatical fingerprint of negation-with-lam, and it pins the action to a denied past event.
