Arabic vocabulary
How to say “eloquent” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَيُورِدُ الْخُطْبَةَ الْغِرَاءَ بِهَا عَجَلًا
And he quickly delivers the eloquent sermon with it.
الْغِرَاءَ — the eloquent. An adjective describing the sermon, so it matches that noun in being definite (it too carries al-) and in its accusative ending. Arabic adjectives follow their noun and copy its definiteness and case, which is how a reader knows this 'eloquent' belongs to 'the sermon' and not to some other word nearby.
