Arabic vocabulary
How to say “esteemed” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
من برع فيه ولزم العدالة والورع عاش حميدا ومات فقيدا،
Whoever excels in it, adheres to justice and piety, lives with honor, and dies esteemed.
فَقِيدًا — esteemed. Again a circumstance-accusative describing HOW he dies — 'mourned / sorely missed'. The accusative attaches the manner to the dying, balancing 'praised' in life. So he dies lamented, his loss felt.
