and do not leave us to ourselves even for the blink of an eye,
عَيْنٍ — eye. A noun in the dependent form, the owning half of the 'of' pairing with the instant-noun before it, set directly beside it with no 'of' between. It completes the fixed expression 'blink of an eye', the standard image for the shortest possible time.
