How to say “giving precedence” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ومن سُنَنِه التسميةُ، وتقديمُ اليُمنى على اليُسرى، والمُوالاةُ، وتخفيفُ التراب إذا كان كثيرًا، وألّا يُكَرِّر المسح
Among its Sunnahs: saying 'Bismillah', preferring the right over the left, continuity, lightening the dust if it is excessive, and not repeating the wiping.
وَتَقْدِيمُ — and preferring. Joined by 'and,' a second sunnah — 'the placing-first of...' — an action-noun, the next subject in the list. It heads an 'of' pair with 'the right [side]': favouring the right before the left.
