Arabic vocabulary
حج is how you say “Hajj” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
يصلون كما نصلي، ويصومون كما نصوم، ولهم فضل من أموال يحجون، ويعتمرون، ويجاهدون، ويتصدقون
They pray as we pray, and fast as we fast, but they have extra wealth to perform Hajj, Umrah, strive in the way of Allah, and give charity.
يَحُجُّونَ — to perform Hajj. A present verb 'perform the pilgrimage', sound masculine plural ('-una' = 'they') — 'they make Hajj'. It opens the list of extra good works their wealth lets them do.
