Arabic vocabulary
How to say “strive” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
يصلون كما نصلي، ويصومون كما نصوم، ولهم فضل من أموال يحجون، ويعتمرون، ويجاهدون، ويتصدقون
They pray as we pray, and fast as we fast, but they have extra wealth to perform Hajj, Umrah, strive in the way of Allah, and give charity.
وَيُجَاهِدُونَ — strive in the way of Allah. This is 'and' plus a Form III verb 'strive / wage struggle', sound masculine plural — 'and they strive [in God's way]'. The Form III pattern often marks effort directed at something. Another wealth-enabled act.
