Arabic vocabulary
How to say “he draws” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَيَغْسِلُ ثَوْبَهُ، وَيَطْبُخُ، وَيَسْتَقِيُ الْمَاءَ مِنَ الْبِئْرِ،
He washes his garment, cooks, and draws water from the well,
وَيَسْتَقِيُ — and he draws. This wa- links yet another habitual action, and the present-tense verb again holds its 'he' subject inside. Unlike the previous verb, this one reaches for an object, 'the water', which comes next. The conjunction continues the unbroken list of things he handled by himself.
