Arabic vocabulary
How to say “he seeks” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَتْ خَرَجَ يَبْتَغِي لَنَا
She said, 'He went out to seek for us.'
يَبْتَغِي — he seeks. This is a present-tense verb of seeking with a singular 'he' subject built in, following the previous verb to express purpose, 'went out seeking'. The present shape after a past verb paints an ongoing aim attached to the going. The doer is the same 'he'.
