How to say “he swore” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَحَلَفَ أَنْ يَتَحَوَّلَ عَنْهُمْ وَيُسْتَبْدَلُوا بِدَارِهِ
So he swore that he would turn away from them and that they would be replaced in his household.
فَحلف — so he swore. Consecutive fa- ('and so') on a past-tense verb of swearing, 'he' inside it. The fa- ties the vow to the elder's rising; the verb opens an oath whose content follows.
