Arabic vocabulary
How to say “hermitage” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَتْ مِنْ جُرَيْجٍ فَأَتَوْهُ فَكَسَرُوا صَوْمَعَتَهُ،
She said, "From Jurayj." So they came to him and broke his hermitage.
صَوْمَعَتَهُ — his hermitage. The object that got broken, with '-hu' (his) attached -- his cell. The suffix ties the structure to Jurayj, and the noun's ending marks it as the thing the breaking lands on.
