How to say “His close ones” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلَمْ يَرْضَهَا لِأَوْلِيَائِهِ فَبَنَى لَهُمْ غَيْرَ هَذِهِ الدَّارِ،
And He did not approve the world for His close ones, so He built for them another home.
لِأَوْلِيَائِهِ — for His close ones. The preposition li- ('for') fused onto a noun that itself ends in -hi ('His'), so one word means 'for His ...'. The li- assigns the genitive and marks the beneficiaries; the -hi possessive points back to God. It names those for whom the world was not deemed good enough.
