Arabic vocabulary
How to say “his standards” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَوَقَعَتْ أَلْوِيِتُهُ وَأَعْلَامُهُ مِنْ أَيْدِيهِمْ فَلَيْسُوا يَرْفَعُونَهَا،
And his banners and standards fell from their hands, so they do not raise them.
وَأَعْلَامُهُ — and his standards. The wa- here links a second item into the same subject, so 'banners and standards' share one verb. The noun is again a plural with the possessor -hu ('his') fused to its end, matching the noun it is paired with. Both nouns together form the thing that fell.
