How to say “hollow” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَفِي جَوْفِ الْفِرَاءِ كُلُّ الصَّيْدِ،
And all the game was in the hollow of the fur cloak,
جَوْفِ — the hollow of. A noun 'hollow/interior', governed by the 'in' before it so it carries the genitive, and itself the head of a possessive pairing with 'the fur cloak' that follows. It names the inner space where, per the proverb quoted, all the prize is found.
