How to say “how excellent is” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَالَ أَبُو سُفْيَانِ يَا عَبَّاسُ حَبَّذَا يَوْمُ الذِّمَارِ
So Abu Sufyan said, "O Abbas, how excellent is the Day of Dhimar."
حَبَّذَا — how excellent is. A frozen exclamatory formula of praise, 'how wonderful is...!', built from an old verb plus a demonstrative but now used as one fixed admiring expression. It introduces what the speaker marvels at, the day named next.
